  7. Bokeh | San Diego, CA

I borrowed the Tamron 70-200mm VC for a shoot and have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with this lens. I have shot the Nikon 70-200mm VR I and VR II many times and the Tamron is every bit of either of those lenses. I had slight issues when I used the Tamron 24-70mm VC and wasn’t 100% pumped on that lens. I was mostly disappointed with the ‘onion bokeh’ on the 24-70mm. This 70-200mm has none of that. Everything was wonderfully smooth and gorgeous. The lens was fast to autofocus on my D700 and the the images were sharp at 2.8. Overall fantastic lens. The only small quick is the placement of the zoom ring. When the lens hood is placed in reverse on the lens (for travel) you cannot adjust the zoom ring. It’s hidden underneath. A small annoyance.
